The U.S. takes great pride in the skyscrapers built since the 1920s (with no workplace safety at all) and in newer buildings that are increasingly luxurious, offering comfort and services to owners. However, in the coastal city of Balneário Camboriú, in the state of Santa Catarina, a “mega skyscraper” called Senna Tower is being born, joining forces between FG Construtora, the Senna brand, and businessman Luciano Hang, the Havan tycoon.
See the impressive information and the courage these entrepreneurs are showing on this fantastic and inspiring journey:
The Current World’s Largest (Completed)
Central Park Tower, located in New York City (USA), is the tallest pure residential building in operation in the world.
Height: 472.4 meters
Floors: 98
Highlight: It stands on the famous Billionaires’ Row, right in front of Central Park.
The Future World’s Largest (Under Construction)
Senna Tower, located in Balneário Camboriú (Santa Catarina, Brazil), will take the title of the world’s tallest residential skyscraper once completed.
Height: More than 550 meters
Floors: Around 154 to 157 floors
Highlight: The project is a partnership between FG Empreendimentos and the family of driver Ayrton Senna. It will feature a pioneering damping technology to reduce wind-induced sway and will include triplex penthouses estimated at R$ 400 million.
(Note: Although Burj Khalifa in Dubai is 828 meters tall and has hundreds of apartments, it is classified as a mixed-use building, as it also houses offices, a luxury hotel, and other attractions, and is therefore not purely residential).
Senna Tower, designed to be the world’s tallest residential skyscraper in Balneário Camboriú, was conceived not only as an ultra-luxury residence, but also as a tourism and technology landmark. The project includes more than 6,000 m² of leisure and wellness areas, divided between spaces open to the public and exclusive amenities for residents.
The main attractions and amenities detailed for the development include:
1. Attractions Open to the Public (Tourism and Dining)
The top and base of the tower will feature entertainment and cultural areas open to visitors:
High-Altitude Observatory: A viewing deck located more than 500 meters above ground, offering a 360° view of the coastline and the Atlantic Forest. From there, there will be a walkway where the public can see the operation of the giant wind damping system (Tuned Mass Damper).
Senna Space: An immersive area dedicated to the legacy, achievements, and journey of driver Ayrton Senna.
Dining and Shopping Center: Fine dining restaurants with panoramic views, plus shops and gourmet markets at the base of the tower.
2. Exclusive Amenities for Residents (Leisure in the Clouds)
The private leisure structure has six floors distributed at different heights throughout the building:
Wellness & Fitness Floors (at 212 and 216 meters high): A full wellness floor “above the clouds” with a heated pool, full spa, saunas (dry and wet), massage rooms, pilates, and a state-of-the-art gym.
Party and Entertainment Lounges (at 464 meters high): Located on the 140th and 141st floors, the main event rooms will feature space-inspired décor and celestial elements. The floor will also house a luxury game room, wine bar, and gourmet area.
Electric Kart Track (Kart Experience): A first-of-its-kind amenity that directly references Ayrton Senna’s racing legacy.
Suspended Pools: Outdoor pools with suspended glass edges (endless view), plus integrated social areas with barbecue grills, an indoor mini market, a children’s playroom, and sports courts.
3. Exclusive Features of the Apartments and Suspended Mansions
The internal engineering and convenience services also stand out:
Car Elevator Directly Into the Living Room: Exclusive to the so-called “Suspended Mansions,” a panoramic elevator will bring the resident’s vehicle directly into the living room, allowing the car to become part of the interior design.
Garage Club and Delivery Elevator: A space designed for car enthusiasts and an elevator system dedicated exclusively to receiving deliveries safely and efficiently.
Ultra-Performance Elevators: The building will feature 8 high-speed elevators capable of traveling from the ground floor to the top in about 60 seconds.
Concierge Service: Personalized support and in-house hospitality and wellness services available to residents.
The building also stands out for its sustainability, as the first purely residential supertall in the world planned to achieve LEED Platinum certification, the highest level of global sustainability, using renewable energy and smart automation for water and energy efficiency.
May more developments like this come to other Brazilian state capitals.
